Dr. Al Kuwaiti is the Head of the Cyber Security Council in the UAE. He is currently holding the position of the Managing Director of the “National Data Centre under the Supreme Council for National Security”. He is also working as Assistant Professor (Adjunct) of Homeland Security Program at Rabdan Academy.
In his current role, Dr. Al Kuwaiti aims to create a fully governed approach to data privacy, sharing and processing as well as the unification and connectivity of government systems and digitization towards a smart government. Working alongside the UAE’s digital transformation agenda, Dr. Al-Kuwaiti has put together an implementation plan to protect the UAE cyberspace through emerging technologies such as Cloud, Big Data and AI.
H.E. Dr. Al Kuwaiti is a board member of “UAE Council for Digital Wellbeing”, “Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority”, “Federal Geographic Information Center”, “United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) – College of Information Technology (CIT) Advisory Committee” and “Emirates Ict Innovation Center (EBTIC) – Khalifa University Committee”. He was the main Keynote speaker for more than 50 international, regional, and national Cybersecurity Events.
In 2013, Dr. Al Kuwaiti joined the National Electronic Security Authority where he held various positions. As the Executive Director of Government Operations, he managed the National and International government relations. In 2011, Dr. Al Kuwaiti was the Chief Technical Analyst at Ministry of Interior where he directed and managed various technical and administrative tasks. He also held other positions, such as Operations Director and CTO of the Counter Terrorism Center. He was also stationed as a Defense, Air, and Naval Military Attaché at the Embassy of The United Arab Emirates in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Al-Kuwaiti has published numerous studies and lectured at many conferences such as IEEE, RSA, Cyber Warfare Europe, Tele Strategies, ISS World MEA, IDEX, International Anti-Cyber Crimes Conference, Future War Summit etc., Dr. Al- Kuwaiti presented the UAE Cyber Security Framework at INTERPOL in Singapore. He organized various events such a paper-s National Cyber Security Exercise and Cyber Quest.
His interests are consulting on detecting, monitoring and responding to cyber warfare, Network Forensics, Corporate Governance & Process, and national cyber policy. He is an honorable member of Society of Engineers, IEEE Society, Golden Key National Honor Society and Computer Society. He is a visiting lecturer on Cyber Security at universities such as Khalifa University and National Defense College in Abu Dhabi.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Al-Kuwaiti holds a Doctorate in Computer Engineering and Network Security from George Washington University in the U.S. and a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Computer Networks. He also holds a M.A. degree in International and Civil Security. Dr. Al-Kuwaiti has won various awards such as Best Lecturer, Dean honors list, leadership Awards, best Design Projects.
In 2021, Dr. Al-Kuwaiti’s was an ambassador of collaboration between the government and cyber agencies. Under his leadership, key public- private partnerships were established between the UAE Cyber Security Council and leading local and international cyber security organizations with the goal of making a positive contribution to the UAE cyber agenda. Additionally, bilateral agreements established with countries both within the region and across the world contributed towards mutual information sharing, capacity development and legal assistance aid treaties.
Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Al-Kuwaiti, the UAE advanced 42 positions in the Global Cybersecurity Index, rising 5th place globally from 47th place in 2017.
In 2002, Dr. Lt. Col Hamad joined Abu Dhabi Police and started working as a Network technician, at the same time, my passion for educational qualifications was under my target. He has earned his HD (Higher Diploma) degree at CNET ( computer Network Engineering Tech ) from the HCT ( Higher College of Technology ) AlAin city , as well as my Bachelor degree in computer Networking.
Holds Ph.D degree in Engineering with specialisation in Digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence & Cyber Security. He has some of the most prestigious and worldwide recognised security certifications. He has been an expert speaker and panel member in security events and summits
Heide Young is the Founding Partner and Board Member of Women in Cyber Security Middle East (WiCSME), a globally recognized group focused on empowering, supporting and increasing the percentage of women in cybersecurity. She is also on the Advisory Board for the Arab International Cybersecurity Summit, Mentor for CyberSafe Foundation CyberGirls 2022 Fellowship, Liaison for Women in Security & Resilience Alliance (WISECRA), and formerly part of the leadership team for Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN) and a FITT (Females in IT&Telecom) Mentor.
She is internationally recognized as an active and contributing member to the global cyber security community. A seasoned frequent international keynote guest speaker, international judge for women in cybersecurity awards, and official mentor to women in cybersecurity from Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Driven by passion, she is dedicated to increase female presence in cyber security through her mentoring, volunteer activities and outreach programs she champions. She is committed to demystifying cyber security and the careers within, so that young girls and women have the opportunity presented to them on how to get involved in cyber security, contribute, and be heard.
In her current role, Heide is the Manager of Cyber Strategy & Engagement, she is responsible for co-developing the cybersecurity unit’s strategy and engagement model, developing pragmatic and creative solutions to reduce risk, identifying issues and threats with potential impact to the strategic objectives, and ensuring consistent alignment throughout the strategy development. Prior to this she was the Head of Cyber Security Strategy within the defense sector where she oversaw the overall infrastructure of information systems and data security. She was responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the entire cyber security posture. Heide has a proven acumen for identifying issues and threats with the potential to impact the strategic objectives of an organization. Applying systematic risk management strategies that have a proven and measurable impact.
David Colombo is a tech entrepreneur, keynote speaker, advisory board member and cyber security expert from Germany. His cyber security research is globally recognized and David is known worldwide through international media such as Bloomberg, CNN and Business Insider. He is also a popular guest in tech podcasts and at various conferences in the fields of technology, innovation, and especially cyber security.
David has already been invited by Fortune 500 executives as well as governments from around the world to share his insights. Eng. Noura Al-Sulaimani, is Head of Information, Communication and Technology at Masdar, where she focuses on IT and cyber security governance and operations. She specifically focuses on providing technical leadership, foresight and senior level ICT/Cyber Security advice and information to meet needs and guide strategic and operational decision-making at Masdar.
She also applies Information Cyber Security building programme that include all the important assets of Masdar, its staff, processes and technologies and the relationship between them.
Mrs. Noura has over 12 years’ experience in cyber security, she holds a BSc. In Network Engineering and two master’s degrees where she focused on how to secure encrypted networks as part of a scholarship, she received to conduct on-the-job research in France and the second is in designing and coding of information system and encryption algorithm.
Her areas of interest are in AI and ways to harness AI and Metaverse in IT and Security solutions.
Hala working as Regional Cyber Security Risk Manager for a leading international bank and she has more than 16 years of experience in banking industry. She is a public speaker in Cyber Security. and passionate about Cyber security field. She has experience in Cyber Risk management, Information Security, Technology, Business Continuity Management, and IT Governance. She hold a Master’s degree in Quality Management, and the BSc in Management Information Systems, and she is certified in CISSP, PCIP, PMP (Project Management Professional), ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, COBIT Foundation & COBIT Implementation in addition to having a diploma in Risk Management.
